Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

WellText exists so that staying on track with meals, medications, and everyday habits doesn't require a smartphone, an app store, or a data plan. Everything essential happens over plain text message, which means the service works on basic phones, flip phones, and kosher phones as well as it does on the newest device.

We want the website to be just as usable. We are committed to making WellText accessible to people with visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive disabilities, and we treat accessibility barriers as bugs to be fixed rather than requests to be queued.

Conformance target

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WellText is currently in free beta, and we have not yet completed a formal third-party audit, so we describe the site as partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard and the remaining gaps are being worked through.

What we do today

  • Semantic headings and landmark regions so screen readers can navigate by structure.
  • Full keyboard operation — every link, button, form field, and menu can be reached and used without a mouse.
  • Visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
  • Color contrast chosen to meet the AA contrast ratio, with color never used as the only way to convey meaning.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
  • Responsive layouts that reflow at 200% zoom and on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Labeled form fields with clear, specific error messages rather than generic failures.
  • Plain-language copy, short sentences, and consistent navigation across pages.

Text-message accessibility

Our messages are designed to be read easily by screen readers, braille displays, and large-print phone settings:

  • Plain text only — no images, no attachments, and nothing that requires a smartphone to open.
  • Short messages with a single clear action, so a reply is usually one word.
  • Simple keywords: reply STOP to opt out at any time and HELP for assistance.
  • No time pressure — you can reply whenever you're able, and a missed reply never locks you out.

Full messaging details are in our SMS Terms, and keyword instructions are on the Help page.

Known limitations

WellText is an early beta product built by a small team. Areas we are still reviewing include:

  • Screen reader announcements for content that updates without a page reload.
  • Consistency of focus handling inside dialogs and multi-step forms.
  • Third-party components, such as the human-verification widget on our public forms, whose accessibility we do not fully control.

If any of these blocks you from using WellText, contact us and we will help you complete what you were trying to do while we fix the underlying issue.

Feedback and contact

We welcome reports of accessibility barriers, and specific detail helps: the page or message involved, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you were using.

  • Email: [SUPPORT EMAIL]
  • Phone: [SUPPORT PHONE]
  • Or use our contact form.

We aim to respond within two business days. If you need a response in a different format, tell us which format works best and we will use it.
